Resource Center Partnership

To build on a growing national juvenile justice reform movement, the Resource Center Partnership provides administrators, practitioners and policymakers with technical assistance, trainings, and proven tools and resources. The Partnership is based on nearly twenty years of research, practice, and reform efforts that have reached more than 35 states, much of which has been made possible by Models for Change: Systems Reform in Juvenile Justice.

The Partnership consists of four Resource Centers that focus on areas critical to continued advancements in juvenile justice:

The Partnership also includes a strategic alliance of national experts and organizations representing state leaders, mayors, judges court personnel, prosecutors, defense counsel, law enforcement, corrections professionals, and justice reform advocates.  This alliance provides a depth and breadth of expertise, and helps ensure that the best practices and lessons from the Centers are disseminated to the policymakers and practitioners who need them.

The Resource Center Partnership is funded through the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation's expanded investment of $165 million in juvenile justice reform. Primarily through its Models for Change initiative, MacArthur has supported reform in 35 states to accelerate juvenile justice reforms, and improve the lives of young people in trouble with the law while enhancing public safety and holding young offenders accountable. In the coming years, the Resource Center Partnership will expand the reach of the Models for Change initiative—its lessons, best practices, and knowledge built over a decade of work—to more local communities and states.
